Self-Consistent Analysis of Barrier Characterization Effects on Quantum Well Laser Internal Performance
In this paper, a numerical study of barrier characterization effects on the high-temperature internal performance of an InGaAsP multi-quantum well laser is presented. The softwareused for this purpose self-consistently combines the three-dimensional simulation of carrier transports, self-heating, and optical waveguiding. The laser model calculates all relevant physical mechanisms, including the...
متن کاملQuantum teleportation with atoms: quantum process tomography
The performance of a quantum teleportation algorithm implemented on an ion trap quantum computer is investigated. First the algorithm is analyzed in terms of the teleportation fidelity of six input states evenly distributed over the Bloch sphere. Furthermore, a quantum process tomography of the teleportation algorithm is carried out which provides almost complete knowledge about the algorithm.
متن کاملAncilla-assisted quantum process tomography.
Complete and precise characterization of a quantum dynamical process can be achieved via the method of quantum process tomography. Using a source of correlated photons, we have implemented several methods, each investigating a wide range of processes, e.g., unitary, decohering, and polarizing. One of these methods, ancilla-assisted process tomography (AAPT), makes use of an additional "ancilla ...
متن کاملSelf-Consistent Quantum-Gravitational Quadrupole Fluctuations
To establish a self-consistent system of mutually interacting gravitational quadrupoles, a characteristic number N of quantum masses μ are related to a characteristic velocity scaling. For this purpose a critical reference is defined by the flux and flux number of mass quanta constituting a confining unit field generating mass mG = Nμ. In the field of mG any small test mass orbits at unit dista...
متن کاملQuantum process tomography with coherent states
We have developed an enhanced technique for characterizing quantum optical processes based on probing unknown quantum processes only with coherent states. Our method substantially improves the original proposal (Lobino et al 2008 Science 322 563), which uses a filtered Glauber–Sudarshan decomposition to determine the effect of the process on an arbitrary state. We introduce a new relation betwe...
